The Ministry of Information of Eritrea conducted its annual activity assessment meeting on February 5, 2026, in Asmara to review the achievements of 2025 and launch the implementation of the 2026 Action Plan. Minister Yemane Gebremeskel presented a data-driven report stating that 90% of the programs planned for 2025 were successfully implemented, including the migration to advanced media facilities and the digitization of archives. A major highlight of the meeting was the introduction of the 2026–2030 strategic plan. This roadmap focuses on modernizing national communications infrastructure, including full HD television distribution and expanded FM radio coverage, to better promote Eritrea's economic potential. The Minister noted that these efforts are critical for improving transparency and narrative control as the country enters a high-growth phase driven by its mineral resources. Participants at the meeting adopted several recommendations to ensure the successful rollout of these initiatives over the coming year.
